THE HISTORY AND SIGNIFICANCE OF THE
ANNUAL REAGAN DINNER
The Reagan Dinner, an annual event hosted by the Tuolumne County Republican Party, has become a cornerstone in the political and social calendar of the Mother Lode region. Since its inception, this dinner has not only honored the legacy of President Ronald Reagan but has also served as a gathering point for community leaders, business owners, and concerned citizens who share a common belief in conservative values and the importance of liberty.
The dinner has grown over the years to become one of the largest Republican events in the area, attracting high-profile speakers, fostering discussions on critical issues, and providing a platform for networking and collaboration among attendees. It has consistently celebrated the courage and contributions of everyday citizens who have taken bold steps to safeguard freedoms and liberties, the idea at the heart of this year’s theme.

This year’s Reagan Dinner, scheduled for Saturday, August 24th, will be held at the Mother Lode Fairgrounds. The theme, "Empowering Community in the Name of Liberty," underscores the importance of unity and action in the face
of challenges to individual rights and freedoms. The event promises a night of inspiration, fellowship, and celebration, featuring a beautifully catered dinner and the opportunity to connect with neighbors and leaders alike.

The 2024 dinner will spotlight: Coach Joe Kennedy and a legal team from the First Liberty Institute. Coach Kennedy, a former Bremerton High School football coach, gained national attention after a legal battle over his right to pray quietly after games, a case that the First Liberty team successfully took to the U.S. Supreme Court. Their victory reaffirmed the protection of the First Amendment. The legal team from First Liberty Institute will also share additional inspiring successes in the courts, highlighting their ongoing commitment to defending religious liberty and constitutional rights.
In addition to the keynote addresses, the evening will feature entertainment, including a lively after-party with cocktails and music by local talent from the Mother Lode. A silent auction and a live auction, featuring coveted items such as trips to Hawaii and Mexico, will also take place.
The event not only celebrates the legacy of President Reagan but also serves as a reminder that every citizen, regardless of their status, can make a significant impact on their community and country. As Suzanne Cruz, one of the event's spokeswomen, aptly put it, "As everyday citizens, we can take bold steps to secure our liberties and freedoms. This event is about coming together to foster unity, strengthen community bonds, and celebrate how all of us, though we might think we are average Joes, can make a positive difference."
This event offers a unique opportunity for attendees to engage with like-minded individuals, contribute to local causes, and celebrate the spirit of liberty that defines the American experience.
